One of the most enjoyable duck breast dishes I have eaten recently, can be found at TriBeCa Restaurant in Parnell Road. Created by Head Chef Elliot Warne, the menu describes it as Lemongrass Scented Duck, with Marscapone Polenta, Yellow Pea Puree & Five Spice Marshmallow. Without doubt the duck breast is beautifully tender and moist and the accompaniments are exciting and complementary to the duck. The resulting dish is a wonderful blend of flavours & textures.
Elliot Warne has been with TriBeCa Restaurant on and off for the past 8 years, becoming Head Chef in early 2007, so he knows both his clientele and market well! Elliot likes to cook with duck, because it is exotic and can be impressive - you are certainly treated to a special duck dish with this menu.
TriBeCa is owned by Mark & Pauline Walynetz, who opened the restaurant in 1997. A decade of maintaining high standards is a real achievement. The restaurant makes the most of a fantastic location. An elegant dining room, complete with beautiful flower arrangements, is complemented by a large rear courtyard, which is a great place for lunch or to dine on a beautiful night – summer or winter. The food is always outstanding, and the service exceptionally friendly. But just don’t take our word for it – the November issue of Cuisine magazine awarded it 4/5 stars and the Sunday Star-Times (print date 26 October 2008) awarded it 5/5 stars!
